ACR+ member Sofia Municipality was one of the cities applying for the European Green Capital 2022, whose technical evaluation was announced last week by the European Commission. In the overall ranking, Sofia ranks 7 out of 18 candidates.
 
The municipality takes first place in the categories "Air Quality" and "Integrated Management". The capital also occupies leading positions in the indicators "Adaptation to climate change" (3rd place), "Climate change mitigation" (4th place) and "Energy" (4th place). The chapters "Waste" and "Green Growth and Eco-Innovation" received good marks, with the city reaching the 6th and 7th places respectively.
