ACR+ member Institut National de l’Economie Circulaire (INEC) published a factsheet to give an overview of the situation regarding textiles in France.

In France, 2.6 billion Textiles for Clothing, Household Linen and Footwear (TLC) are placed on the market every year, representing an estimated volume of 624,000 tonnes, or approximately 9.5 kg per year per inhabitant. In August 2019, 56 companies equivalent to 250 fashion and textile brands have committed to reducing the carbon footprint of the clothing sector by signing the "Fashion Pact". This commitment is centred on three themes: the fight against CO2 emissions, the preservation of natural environments and the fight against ocean pollution by the discharge of plastic particles.
