Turkey could reap annual environmental benefits worth TRY 705 million (EUR 108.7 million) by introducing a deposit return system (DRS), a new report commissioned by ACR+ member Reloop has found.

The document details the design, scope, costs, and benefits that a DRS would bring to the country. The Turkish Government confirmed in early 2019 that it will introduce deposits on beverage containers by 2021 as part of its zero-waste initiative and efforts to protect Turkey’s 8,000 km of coastline.
