On 12 and 13 March 2019, ACR+ member Citeo organised the fourth edition of the Club des Métropoles conference in Montpelier, France. The event gathered 55 attendees, among whom were high-level representatives and elected officials from nine metropolitan areas. ACR+ members Paris, Nantes Métropole and Decoset were also in attendance.

After welcoming speeches by Valérie Barthas-Orsal from host Montpellier City, Jean Hornain, the general manager of Citeo and Haguette Tiegna, the French MP in charge of the future national Law on circular economy, the conference continued with three panels during which metropolitan areas shared their experiences. The panels were also a platform for other stakeholders to address topics like innovation in the design phase of products, engaging citizens to improve recycling performances and behavioural change in cities.

ACR+ and its members Paris and AMIU participated in the round table on eliciting behavioural change in urban areas. In his presentation, ACR+ Deputy Secretary General Philippe Micheaux Naudet focused on the issue of waste prevention and institutional cooperation conducive to waste prevention, offering the activities developed as part of the WINPOL and COLLECTORS projects as examples.
