The Paris Climate Agency, in partnership with ACR+ member City of Paris, successfully closes the first edition of the Family Zero Waste Challenge! 80 participants in 6 teams had committed to reduce their waste production by 10% over a period of 3 months.
With an average of 0.90 kg of waste produced per day per household, the 30 families involved in the challenge reduced their waste by 25% (all flows combined). The starting goal has been more than doubled!
Some of them were particularly distinguished: one of the families of the challenge reduced its waste production by 73%! During the last week of the challenge, it produced an average of 0.440 kg of waste per day, which is 3 times less than the Paris average. In total, the challenge has avoided 1 tonne of waste!
