Circular economy experts from Europe and across the globe are set to gather in Scotland for one of the world’s most prestigious sustainable business events, backed by the Scottish Government and European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and organised by ACR+ member Zero Waste Scotland.

Scotland has been chosen to host the Circular Economy Hotspot: a unique international trade mission highlighting sustainable innovation and expertise. Taking place from 30 October to 1 November 2018, Circular Economy Hotspot Scotland is expected to attract around 300 of the world’s leading decision-makers, trade representatives, investors and circular economy entrepreneurs.

Circular Economy Hotspot Scotland will showcase Scotland’s strategic and practical leadership on the circular economy. It follows global recognition at the World Economic Forum, where Scotland received the award for Circular Economy Nations and Regions in the high-profile Circulars Awards in 2017.

Circular Economy Hotspot Scotland’s programme is expected to include visits to pioneering Scottish businesses and workshops led by some of the country’s foremost names in circular economy policy and innovation. There will also be unique networking opportunities for delegates, with potential to foster new connections between Scotland and Europe within the circular economy landscape.
