The Brussels-Capital Region has set up the Regional Circular Economy Program for the period 2016-2020 in order to transform the current linear economic model into a circular model.

The construction sector in Brussels consumes a lot of resources and produces a lot of waste. Being also a sector that creates a lot of local jobs, it was identified as an ideal starting point to initiative the transition.

In this context, ACR+ member Brussels Environment has commissioned a twofold study, carried out by the University of Brussels (ULB). Firstly, the report defined the circular economy potential in the Brussels construction sector. Secondly, it consulted various stakeholders and defined a common vision for the Brussels construction sector in the framework of circular economy.

The full study can be accessed here.
