Local and regional action plans addressing food waste through support to eco-innovation (28 February 2019)
This webinar presented the EU-funded project ECOWASTE4FOOD, discussing the innovative measures that can be put in place by local and regional authorities to address the issue of food waste. The project brings together seven local and regional authorities from seven countries throughout Europe and aims not only to stop an unacceptable situation which causes the loss of up to 50% of the agricultural production that keeps not consumed or is consumed in a wrong way regarding health concerns, but also to demonstrate that food waste could be at source of a resource efficient and environmentally friendly economy for the territories.
In this webinar, ACR+ members ARC - Catalan Waste Agency, the South Region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, and the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies – Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Montpellier (CIHEAM-IAMM), partners of ECOWASTE4FOOD, shared with us the action plans they developed in the framework of the project.
