On 16 September, during the Sustainability Conference organised by LIPOR and its associated municipalities, LIPOR’s President outlined the organisation's progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and set new targets for the coming years. Since adopting its 4M Strategy in 2006, focused on reducing waste and carbon while improving climate and biodiversity, LIPOR has reduced GHG emissions by 38.6%. Building on these results, LIPOR reaffirms its commitment to reducing emissions by 50% by 2030, compared to 2006 levels. Moreover, as LIPOR believes in and promotes the transition to a competitive, circular, resilient, and carbon-neutral economy, it also announced its ambition to achieve climate neutrality by 2045.
