The Cleantech Region is an Eastern Netherlands Triple Helix collaboration focusing on creating an energy-neutral, waste-free and sustainable economy and society. Eightmunicipalities, knowledge institutions, businesses and nearly 500 thousand inhabitants work together to achieve the cleantech goals. The region has the lowest quantities of household waste of the Netherlands and it aims to be completely waste free by 2030. In this process, Cleantech Region’s human capital is actively involved because they believe that economy and ecology go hand in hand.
