ACR PPI4Waste Logotype RVB Full

In the framework of the PPI4Waste, a State of the Art workshop will be organised by ICLEI on 26 April 2016 in Bilbao.

It will bring together public procurers, suppliers and consultants in the field of waste management from all over Europe to discuss procurement needs and showcase innovative waste management solutions. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in face to face discussions on what is available on the market as well as solutions being developed.

There will be a special focus on:

  • Plastic separation
  • Bio-waste collection
  • Bulky waste management
  • Decision support systems and organisational infrastructure

This event is free but online registration is mandatory. ACR+ members are warmly encouraged to take part in this event and to circulate the information amongst their contacts (both technology suppliers and public procurers) in order to ensure that a wide range of European experts can share their solutions.

Before that, another partner of the project and ACR+ member Zagreb City Holding is organising a conference entitled ‘Promotion of public procurement of innovation for waste treatment’. This event, targeting municipal companies, experts in the field, local authorities and academic institutions, will take place on 5 April 2016 in Zagreb. It aims at creating a discussion between demand and supply of innovative waste treatment solutions.

A similar event on public procurement of innovation and plastics, to be organised by ACR+, was scheduled on 24 March 2016 in Brussels. For security reasons it has been postponed until 12 May 2016. This event will address the needs and innovative solutions regarding plastic waste management in Belgium, as well as barriers to public market access and how to overcome them.
