FER-PLAY partners have gathered data for 61 value chains of alternative derived from 7 raw materials: biological by-products, biowaste, digestate, industrial wastewater, sewage sludge, treated manure, and urban wastewater. Data such as the availability of the alternative fertiliser, the collection costs, and the production safety is available. The database is openly available on the project’s website: here. From this list of 61 value chains, the partners have selected 7 alternative value chains i.e., one per secondary raw material. The selected alternative fertiliser can be widely used throughout EU Member States. The next step of the project is the analysis of these value chains using Life Cycle Sustainable Assessments. In addition, workshops on each of the selected value chains will be organised after the summer to gather information on the challenges and opportunities regarding their supply and demand.
