ProCirc RGB 02 A colour

At the beginning of the summer, ProCirc partners received great news: the project Interreg North Sea Region ProCirc will be extended 1 year and instead of finishing in June 2022 it will continue until June 2023. With this additional time new activities will be carried out: provide more support to pilots, identify champions on Circular Procurement, organise more external events to spread lessons learnt, deliver new materials on training and guidance etc.

On 14 October 2021, the workshop ‘Delivering the EU Green Deal Through Circular Procurement’ took place as part of the 19th European Week of Regions and Cities. The event was co-organised by the Urban Agenda Partnership for Innovative and Responsible Public Procurement and partners from the Interreg NSR project ProCirc. It was an occasion to share experience and best practices and to show how circular procurement can speed up local and regional transitions towards a circular economy. In case you missed it you can find the recording here.

In addition, a transnational webinar ‘Procurement as a Building Block for Circular Construction’ delivered as part of ProCirc project took place on 7 September 2021. Business in the Community hosted the webinar in which four ProCirc pilot projects presented their live construction projects which are trialling new circular economy approaches and took part in panel discussions on topics including setting a circular ambition and measuring impact. You can find the recording of the webinar here.

In the last months project partners released two publications, the first publication presents the case of the Kolding municipality and their experience on integrating circular principles in their operations. The second publication prepared by ProCirc partner Clean highlights the advantages of having an early market dialogue through the interview carried out to the Danish SME BurntWood.
