ACR is co-organising, together with ICLEI Europe and HESAM University, a European Union side event during the COP26 – 26th UN Climate Change Conference happening in Glasgow from 31 October to 12 November 2021. The event “Circular economy & local governments: sustainable resource management to mitigate climate change” will take place on 6 November at 14:00-15:00 CET.

The session will underscore the need to move from a linear to a circular economic model in order to tackle climate change, and the role which local governments must play. Participants will learn about three European initiatives aimed at supporting sub-national governments on this journey: the More Circularity, Less Carbon campaign, the European Circular Cities Declaration and the COLOR CIRCLE project. ACR+ will moderate a panel discussion featuring cities and regions, including ACR+ member Sardegna, to discuss the measures they have taken, the challenges they have faced, and the results they have achieved.
