Last 25 February 2021, ACR+ participated in the first episode Are we on track to meet our targets for glass packaging? of the new web series launched by the European Close the Glass Loop Platform with the aim to discuss key topics regarding the glass collection and recycling value chain.
 
This first episode started with a presentation of a Commission representative outlining the EU rules on packaging and packaging waste, including the revision of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive. A panel debate followed, in which ACR+ presented an overview of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on municipal waste management, and discussed with other representatives of the glass packaging value-chain about the key challenges and opportunities to meet the new, ambitious European recycling targets.
