ACR+ member Agència d’Ecologia Urbana de Barcelona (BCNEcologia) has published a guide on community composting that is available for download in Spanish and English, according to an announcement made by the Barcelona-based urban ecology agency. This practical guide for the implementation of community composting helps to transpose global circular economy policies and strategies into local strategies regarding bio-waste management and the promotion of recycling.

The authors intend that the guide be a reference for technical personnel, companies, users, public administrations and others interested in the practices and management of community composting spaces. In addition, the document includes a proposal for the classification of community composting areas and the monitoring requirements that should be met according to their degree of vulnerability.

Both the guide and the proposed classification have been developed based on the experiences of the technicians implementing composting spaces in Spain and other countries.
