ACR+ ensured that municipal perspective is not forgotten at the Go Circular 2025
ACR+ took part in the Go Circular 2025 conference held on 4–5 March in Rotterdam, contributing to discussions on circular economy challenges and solutions. ACR+ brought to the table the critical role of cities and regions in ensuring effective waste management. In a session dedicated to waste management and infrastructure, ACR+ highlighted the practical challenges faced by municipalities in implementing zero waste and circular economy strategies, underlining issues such as balancing quality and quantity in waste streams, the need for proper infrastructure, and how financial limitations can affect local circular initiatives. To illustrate its point, ACR+ highlighted examples from its network, bringing up cases such as the IMOG’s pay-as-you-throw app in Flanders.
The event served as an opportunity to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including producers, recyclers, NGOs, and policymakers, reinforcing ACR+’s role in connecting local and regional authorities with broader circular economy debates and ensuring their voices are heard in the ongoing development of EU circular economy policies.
