November 2019: ACR+ launches the “More Circularity, Less Carbon” campaign, to better understand and address the carbon emissions linked with waste generation and management at local level. Nearly a year after, the first cohort of ACR+ members is getting ready to share preliminary results. For several months, Pays de la Loire, Brussels, and Genova have been collecting data to allow the calculation of their carbon footprint, updating for this Zero Waste Scotland’s Carbon Metric and applying it to their territories.

This online workshop explained, in a concrete way, the application of the Carbon Metric International to a specific territory, thanks to the example of the French Region of Pays de la Loire. It included presentations of:

  • The objective of the “More Circularity, Less Carbon” campaign;
  • The Carbon Metric International;
  • How data collection works: what data are required, and how the different templates have to be filled in;
  • What results can be then obtained regarding the carbon footprint linked with waste generation and management;
  • Feedback on first results and experience-sharing from Pays de la Loire.

ACR+ and Zero Waste Scotland aim to launch soon a second cohort of cities and regions willing to reduce their carbon emissions linked with waste generation and management. Could it be you?

A recording and the presentations made during the event are available online for ACR+ members. If you are a member, logg in and follow this link.
