ACR+ joined the Climate Chance Summit Europe 2022 taking place on 7 and 8 March in Nantes (FR). These two days of meeting and exchanges on climate issues equally balanced both mitigation and adaptation issues at the European level, with a dedicated day for each. The Summit also discussed Europe’s international action on climate change, particularly in terms of Europe’s cooperation with Africa. The Climate Chance Summit Europe was held in synergy with the European Climate Conference organised by the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union (FPEU) at the same place and time, with the support of ACR+ member Nantes Métropole. Thus, the participants of the Summit had the opportunity to also dialogue with high-level representatives of the Member States of the European Union and the European Commission, who attended the European Climate Conference of the FPEU.

The Summit brought together, over 2 days, 300 high-level experts and actors in the field around 40 events: high-level plenary sessions, round tables, workshops, Pitch Corner. Many key themes of climate action were covered: Role of local governments in the European Green Deal  and the Fit-for-55 - Employment and training - Gender integration in EU climate policies - Access to climate finance - Citizens' Climate Conventions - Mobility - Circular economy - Sustainable building and cities etc.

ACR+ organised the workshop “Circular economy and waste management: How to achieve a new paradigm?” on the second day, focusing on building proposals for the European Green Deal to establish a new paradigm on the circular economy and waste management in Europe.
