Zadar
Zadar is a 3,000-year-old town situated on the eastern Adriatic coast in Croatia. It is the administrative, political, cultural and economic centre of Zadar County. Beside its attractive centre, seven small distant islands administratively belong to Zadar City. With its 75,062 inhabitants, Zadar is the fifth largest city in Croatia. It is a town of exceptional history and rich cultural heritage. Connected with the world through international maritime, air and land transport corridors, it is primarily oriented towards tourism.
As a local self-government unit, with 14 administrative departments and about 200 employees, Zadar deals with a wide variety of governance issues, ranging from urban development and housing to social welfare, education and schooling, culture, and environmental protection.
