Odense Waste Management (OWM) is the company which, amongst other well-functioning solid waste management activities, collects waste from households and public institutions (such as schools, kindergartens, theatres, etc.) in Odense municipality. OMW is fully owned and controlled by the Municipality of Odense and is operating on a not for profit basis.

OWM collects household waste every 2 weeks and paper/cardboard every 4 weeks in individual containers at the curb side from around 100,000 households. Further, we operate 8 recycling stations where citizens free of charge can bring sorted waste into 40 different fractions. Currently, we recycle 87% of the waste received at the recycling stations; 40% of the household waste reaching 60% overall of the waste collected.
