Nantes Métropole

Nantes Métropole is the organising authority regarding mixed household and similar waste management for 24 member municipalities, covering around 63,600 inhabitants. Its services include prevention, collection, sorting, treatment and valorisation of waste. With the help of a network of waste advisors from 7 local centres of the territory, it is in charge of communicating with users and replying to their need, as well as evaluating public policies; defining the financing policy of this public service; identifying the adapted implementation of this public service (level and quality of the service, choice of the management options); managing and implementing policies; and verifying, controlling and evaluating the implementation of the missions realised by public and private operators.
