Mastering the role of micro-credentials in developing sustainable skills

More than 70 participants explored the role of micro-credentials in fostering sustainable skills thanks to a webinar of the MASTERY project. The event featured key insights from the European Commission, which emphasised the EU’s focus on micro-credentials to enhance lifelong learning and employability. Speakers from European Forum of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, World Alliance for Microcredentials Foundation and Bulgaria’s National Agency for Vocational Education and Training presented best practices, while the MASTERY team shared research findings on the value of micro-credentials in bridging educational gaps and equipping individuals for sustainable roles.

Attendees engaged in discussions across national and European brainstorming sessions, sharing practical ideas on implementing micro-credentials. Topics included the integration of digital badges in Finland, policy development in Bulgaria, and the need for industry recognition highlighted by LIPOR Academy in the European session. Each session provided valuable insights on adapting micro-credentials to local needs while fostering industry relevance.
