Capacity building for municipalities to work on their Sustainable Energy Climate Action Plans

The SPARKLE project has officially started with a kick-off meeting in Brussels. The 14 partners have met to start planning the activities of the next three and a half years. SPARKLE will provide support to five cities to improve and update their Sustainable Energy Climate Action Plans. Cities will participate in an online training and five summer/winter schools, along with study visits will be organised to dive deeper into the pillars of the project:

  • Governance of climate and energy transition pathways;
  • Fossil-free districts and buildings;
  • Community energy for locally owned renewable energy production;
  • Sustainable food system and land use policies;
  • Resource-wise and socially just local economies.
Cities will then be guided and supported by technical partners in the definition of objectives and actions to improve and update their climate action policy instruments. A very good news for the ACR+ members is that the project will give the opportunity to many other cities to take part in the programme and receive assistance. If you are interested and want to stay updated about the project, get in contact with Serena Lisai.
