European cities and regions lead the charge in circular economy solutions

The DECISO project held its annual international conference, "Cities and Regions Investing in Circular Solutions: from idea to practice", on 11 October, a side-session of the European Week of Cities and Regions. The event gathered local government representatives and thematic experts to discuss differentiated funding sources for circular economy projects and explore concrete paths to scale up investments in this crucial sector. The conference featured a series of talks on territorial strategies for circular economy, water resilience and reuse, biomass valorisation and district heating, circular bioeconomy loops. A highlight of the event was a collaborative session on circular economy investments, fostering knowledge exchange between Horizon Europe projects professionals, circular economy experts and practitioners. Participants evaluated the effectiveness of funding mechanisms such as the Horizon Europe Project Development Assistance, aiming to improve their impact in future initiatives.
