FOODRUS | The project is already halfway through the development of 23 innovative solutions to reduce Food Losses and Waste
As of October 2022, the FOODRUS project has entered month 24 of its implementation. The project is already halfway through the development of 23 innovative solutions to reduce Food Losses and Waste in the bread, vegetables, and meat & fish value chains. At the current stage, project partners are finalizing the design of solutions and the citizens’ science engagement and consultation processes. By the end of 2022 and throughout 2023 pilots will start testing the solutions, for which impact will be measured through the selected KPIs identified in the first phase of the project. For the replication effort, Associated Regions and pilots have been provided by ACR+ with the tools to start local stakeholder’s consultation processes, and with the definition of the replication roadmaps that will have to be developed by the end of 2023. At this stage, ACR+ has also supported the data collection across the whole Food Value Chain on barriers preventing food losses and food waste prevention and reduction.
