ALDA – The European Association for Local Democracy, promotes good governance and citizen participation at the local level in the enlarged Europe. Established on the initiative of the Council of Europe, ALDA is a membership based organization gathering more than 300 members (including local authorities, associations of local authorities, and civil society organizations) from more than 40 countries. Through innovative and multistakeholder approaches, the activities of ALDA foster effective cooperation between local and regional governments, and organized civil society.
