Aalborg | Sustainability Award 2024 nominees announced

Since 2013, the City of Aalborg has organised the Sustainability Award, which this year will feature two categories: civil society and companies. An expert panel composed by businesses, the Youth Climate Council, and the Climate and Environment Committee has selected three finalists in each category, focusing on CO2 reductions and knowledge sharing. Winners will be announced at the Green Stage on Family Day, 5 October. Among the nominees:

Ny Vraa ApS: Recognised for its groundbreaking use of willow compost as an alternative to peat, significantly reducing CO2 and enhancing biodiversity.

Green Family Start: Commended for reducing single-use items in the maternity ward at Aalborg University Hospital, driven by staff initiative.

RepairCafe Aalborg: Recognised for promoting sustainability and community engagement by offering free repairs and teaching repair skills, challenging the throwaway culture.
