Sofia Municipality | Increasing the number of household hazardous waste collection points

Sofia Municipality continues with accelerated measures to expand household waste separation opportunities. Under a renewed and expanded scheme, a mobile collection point for hazardous waste is being introduced in partnership with "Ekosafe". The schedule includes all districts of the capital. Citizens will be able to dispose of household chemicals, paints, expired medicines, toner cartridges, inks, adhesives, disinfectants, etc., free of charge at the collection points. Home visits can also be arranged if over 1 kg of household hazardous waste is being disposed of. Safety of citizens, prevention of incidents, and pollution prevention are priorities at the hazardous waste collection points. Depending on their type, collected materials are recycled or disposed of according to waste management laws.
