NLWA | New artwork with unique upcycling twist
North London Waste Authority (NLWA) attended the unveiling of new artworks in Enfield, a joint project between the Authority and Dugdale Arts Centre. The murals, created by local artists, feature reclaimed paint sourced by NLWA from the Forest Recycling Project in Walthamstow. This paint, leftover and unused by residents, was donated through the Community RePaint Scheme and repurposed into beautiful artwork.
This project highlights NLWA’s efforts to encourage north London residents to choose reused or second-hand alternatives. Each year, over 50 million litres of paint go to waste in the UK, much of which could be reused. Many are unaware they can pick up reclaimed paint for free at recycling centres or at a discounted price at the Forest Recycling Project.
