LIFE BIOBEST | Key performance indicators for efficient bio-waste management

The partners of the LIFE BioBest project have identified 23 key performance indicators (KPIs) that can be used by local authority to understand how efficient their bio-waste management strategy is. These KPIs cover the separate collection of bio-waste, its treatment and the outputs (compost and digestate) of the treatment plants as well as the legal framework surrounding bio-waste management. These KPIs were discussed with some European local authorities during the second co-creation event organised by ACR+ to discuss their replicability. Additionally, they were presented to a broader public during the capacity building event organising by Zero Waste Europe on 25 October in Barcelona.
