Exploring the sectoral potential of Hubs4Circularity in the EU regions

On 26 September 2024, the Hubs4Circularity Community of Practice and A.SPIRE hosted a webinar titled “Exploring the Sectoral Hubs4Circularity Potential in EU Regions.” The event featured presentations from key figures, including representatives from the European Commission, Covestro AG, CIRCE, and Glavbolgarstroy Holding. The discussion centred on practical Hubs4Circularity (H4C) cases and their potential to drive industrial symbiosis and circular economy solutions across various European regions.
Moderated by Àngels Orduña, Executive Director of A.SPIRE, the webinar highlighted that H4Cs are expected to serve as the new business model for circular economy initiatives. Orduña emphasised the importance of planning reliability and a well-aligned political framework for successful implementation. While the journey towards Hubs4Circularity is a long-term process, with substantial potential for savings within the process industries, collaboration among stakeholders remains key. Webinar participants were encouraged to join the Hubs4Circularity Community of Practice to continue these important discussions.
