DECISO/HOOP | Joint workshop on financing local circular economy initiatives

On 10 May 2023, the HOOP and DECISO projects co-organised a workshop in Brussels titled "Financing local circular economy initiatives” in cooperation with the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP). The workshop focused on informing project promoters about strategic access to funding and managing budgets for circular initiatives. It also facilitated connections between financing experts, investors, and project promoters while showcasing good practices.

The morning session featured three thematic sessions on securing funding, leveraging public procurement, and bridging financing gaps through private investments. In the afternoon, discussions explored different approaches to initiating circular economy initiatives. Participants also identified barriers, such as the gap between legislation and actual needs of companies or start-ups in the circular economy.
