The Government of Navarra has approved the revision of the Navarre Waste Plan 2017-2027, which increases measures aimed at reducing the consumption of single-use plastic products and minimising food waste. The objective is to double the capture of selectively collected organic matter, halve the disposal of household waste in landfills, and decrease the generation of industrial waste by promoting circular economy projects and innovative solutions to optimise production resources. The approved revision proposes a 13% reduction in waste generation for all waste streams by 2025 and a 15% reduction by 2027 compared to the levels generated in 2010.

Among the measures, the "Strategy: more food, less waste" stands out, enabling the application of tax incentives for food donations by producers, restaurant and distribution entities. The plan also includes the promotion of prevention and the use of reusable packaging in public administrations and the installation of drinking water sources to discourage the consumption of single-use bottles.
