Furthermore, the public's willingness to contribute to environmental efforts aligns with the need for a deposit return system, which offers high-quality recycling crucial for progressing towards a circular economy for drinks packaging. The absence of an efficient waste collection system for drinks containers in the UK is seen as detrimental to the environment, and the introduction of a deposit return scheme is projected to reduce littering of these items by 85%, according to gathered signatures.
