To address illegal dumping, ACR+ member Region SUD Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur is launching an action plan, serving as a comprehensive toolbox for local authorities. It consists of nine measures, including support for municipalities with fewer than 5 000 inhabitants to create an action plan; and investment assistance for the financing of facilities, signage, and photographic traps to promote the fight against illegal dumping. Additionally, there is an agreement with eco-organisations; the promotion of the regional digital platform ReMed, which mobilises stakeholders and residents for cleaning and preserving the environment; and the continuation of the experimentation of using satellite imagery for the most exhaustive identification of illegal dumps and landfills in the regional territory.
