The Scrivia Valley Expo 2024, A three-day event organised by the Metropolitan City of Genoa in collaboration with AMIU, aimed to showcase the region's outdoor activities, local food and wine specialties, and promote tourism and economic potential. One notable achievement was the event's sustainability, boasting an 85% recycling rate, especially in managing waste from kitchens and food areas. This success was largely due to the dedication of a team of young volunteers who oversaw waste management, collection, and separation throughout the event. With direct guidance from AMIU on-site, the team separated packaging, bottles and compostable tableware in a designated area. Their efforts ensured that materials were properly cleaned for recycling, significantly contributing to the event's recycling rate.
