The Government of Catalonia has held a conference to promote the repair of goods in the commercial sector, titled "Innovating through Repair: New Opportunities for Commerce". Organised jointly by the Consortium of Commerce, Crafts, and Fashion of Catalonia and the Catalan Waste Agency (ARC), the session aimed to raise awareness about the importance of promoting repair, refurbishment, and remanufacturing of goods to extend their lifespan and minimise waste.

During the conference, the study "Activating Repair through Commerce" was presented, highlighting the potential of repair across various commercial sectors. This study identifies 12 key criteria for promoting the repair of goods in commerce and concludes with 15 recommendations for public administrations, businesses and commercial associations. Among the recommendations are the promotion of centralised collection and delivery services for repairable products, the creation of repair vouchers for consumers, enhancing the visibility of International Repair Day, and organising educational events.
