The Navarra Decree on Public Events has been recently published by the Government of Navarra, marking a transition period with mandatory enforcement starting on 4 May 2025. The purpose of the decree is to regulate and establish environmental measures to prevent waste generation and improve waste management sustainability for public events in the Navarra region. The decree establishes the creation of regulations concerning public events and waste management. It also supports and promotes innovative business, social, and local initiatives aimed at reducing and reusing packaging, such as milk vending machines and promoting tap water consumption and the use of reusable products at festivals and events. Additionally, the decree aims to develop or promote regulations to support these actions, including measures to inform and raise awareness among event attendees about environmental sustainability and communicate the importance of sustainability to society as a whole.
