In the first semester of 2022, ACR+ member Government of Navarra has recycled 121,000 kilos of medicines, which places the region at the head of Spain in terms of the collection and recycling of pharmacological waste. During this period, the citizens of Navarra deposited 6% more empty or leftover medicine containers at the collection points in pharmacies than in the same period the previous year.

Of the 121,000 kg collected, 83% is recycled, 17% is recovered for energy recovery and only 0.05% is disposed of by incineration. 46,000 kg of packaging materials such as paper, cardboard, plastics, metals and glass have been recovered and returned to the production cycle. Likewise, nearly 39,000 kg of medicines have been prevented from being dumped into the sewage system or deposited in the selective waste collection containers.
