Waste collection in the city centre of Guimarães is changing as ACR+ member VITRUS Ambiente in partnership with the City Council and Resinorte will implement a pay-as-you-throw (PAYT) system in the main streets of the city as of 2019.

The plan is to gradually implement the system, starting with a survey of the population covered in February and March, and to give time for adaptation to users. The new rate will be applied only in September.

A PAYT system is implemented with success in the historic centre of the city for already two years.
