The INTHERWASTE Consortium met in Cordoba on 27-28 April 2016 to launch the project and set up the framework for the upcoming activities. The INTHERWASTE project is funded under the Interreg Europe programme and aims to foster the exchange of experience and policies for efficient and sustainable waste management in European Heritage Cities, where the preservation of heritage and management of high amounts of waste due to tourism and economic activities pose an additional challenge. It is coordinated by Sanitation Cordoba (SADECO) and involves four other municipalities: Porto, Tallinn, Krakow and Syracuse. ACR+ is the advisory partner on the project and will be providing expertise to the partnership in the various stages of the project. In addition to this, ACR+ will coordinate the communication activities of the project.

As part of its advisory role, ACR+ will organise a capacity building meeting in Brussels on 30 June 2016 in order to train the partner cities’ experts to use different waste management and monitoring tools produced in previous relevant projects (Pre-waste, Miniwaste, R4R and EWWR). The meeting will be joined by external experts and will provide hands-on, practical tips to the project partners.

Stay tuned for the launch of the project website and twitter account in the upcoming weeks!
