In October 2022, ACR+ launched to its members a first call for participation in project activities as part of the Sustainable Food System thematic area. Among the members who showed interest, the Maltese Southern Regional Council is now benefitting from the PREPSOIL consortium’s expertise. As part of the activities on Soil Needs Assessment in representative regions across Europe, the project has selected 21 regions to engage multiple stakeholders in the assessment of status of soil health. In Malta, the Southern Regional Council has partnered with the Northern Regional Council to join forces and identify key drivers and impacts of transition in land use for the Mediterranean island. ACR+ is supporting the process and identifying new opportunities to develop a soil health living lab in the region.
