Do you know that RE4 is one of the success stories from EU-funded Research and Innovation? The project – now finished – is acclaimed for having developed prefabricated energy-efficient building concepts made from materials, components and structures derived from construction and demolition waste. The concept enables the easy assembly and disassembly of buildings for future reuse.

To understand everything about this wonderful adventure and RE4’s achievements, we invite you to have a look at the project’s final video. You can also browse the booklet presenting the best practices identified by the project, ranging from source separation and collection to sustainability and market potential, and to policy and framework conditions.

If RE4 convinced you, why not showing your support?

The project has been selected as one of three finalists for the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) Sustainability Challenge in the category Research. A presentation made to a jury collected a very good feedback, as 62% of the audience voted to see the project winning the competition. But the final decision rests in the public's hands. It is now up to you to vote online for the project you would like to see receiving the prize (small hint: this should be RE4!).

You can cast your vote on https://blog.dgnb.de/sustainability-challenge-2020/kategorie-forschung/voting/
