Upon the invitation of the Belgian association of professional football clubs, 24 football clubs came together to hear more about the new decree on single-use plastic ban in events in Flanders and the practical implications for football clubs, starting as of 1 January 2020. They also had the possibility to know more about LIFE TACKLE.

The Flemish Environment Minister Zuhal Demir, accompanied by ACR+ member OVAM, highlighted that football games in Belgium gather nearly 100,000 visitors every weekend, forcing the teams and other stakeholders to act more sustainably. Reusable cups and reusable or biodegradable cutlery, plates and other material, as implemented by the Royal Belgian Football Association, are some of the solutions.
