UrbanWaste

One week to go before the URBAN-WASTE Final Conference! The final programme of this unique storytelling experience, organised by ACR+, is now available online.

Looking back at the previous three years of the project, it will involve diverse high-level speakers and specialists in waste management and tourism.  After the presentation of the project’s key results and findings, the conference will host four thematic debates with guest facilitators and numerous panelists who were in the 11 pilot cities and regions. During the day, a permanent exhibition can be visited alongside a set of workshops which will be taking place during the conference’s breaks to involve participants in DIY creative and upcycling activities. The HONDAR 2050 documentary will be screened at the end of the day, followed by a discussion with the film’s main protagonist, the surfer and environmentalist Carlos Arrolo.

The conference will also be the occasion for the cities of Krakow, ACR+ member Genoa, Bruges, and the region of Corsica to become the new signatories of the Charter of Commitments, the project’s initiative targeting cities and regions and acknowledging their efforts in making tourism more sustainable.

For those unable to attend the conference, Euractiv will be present as the conference’s media partner. A webinar is also foreseen to repeat the highlights of conference later in May.
