newsletter INTHERWASTE logo As project partners were preparing to wrap up the first phase of the project, ACR+ coordinated the publication of a second INTHERWASTE project brochure on 28 March 2019. Unlike the first project brochure, which was targeted at lay audiences, the recent document summarises the activities and results of the first three years of INTHERWASTE and is aimed at policymakers and local authorities. The document is divided into two main sections.

A brief introduction is followed by a section detailing the activities that each of the six project partners — ACR+ and the municipalities of Cordoba, Ibiza, Krakow, Porto and Tallinn — has been rolling out since 2016. Each of the above-mentioned municipal actors has done a situational analysis as part of the project in order to benchmark its standing regarding waste management in its urban centre and heritage area. Thanks to the intensive technical and knowledge exchanges organised as part of INTHERWASTE, they developed action plans to improve the status quo. The section contains details about their journeys, as well as about the role that ACR+ has been playing in its capacity as an advisory partner.

The last section of the brochure features five of the more than 50 good practices of waste management in heritage areas that were discussed and observed during the course of the project.
