On 21 February 2019, ACR+ was pleased to speak at the event “Do Good: Save Food!”, co-organised by the European Parliament’s Intergroup on Climate Change, Biodiversity & Sustainable Development and the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the UN (FAO).

Participants discussed how to educate future generations for a zero food waste world at an event that offered a platform to actors already active in preventing food waste to share their thoughts and insights on the topic.

ACR+ brought up some innovative examples of food waste reductions from cities and regions in its network, such as the “Dose Certa” and Embruhla projects carried out by ACR+ member LIPOR in Portugal’s Greater Porto Region and the “Good Food” strategy in the Brussels-Capital Region implemented by ACR+ member Brussels Environment (with specific the example of “Good Food” Cantines & Resto labels).

Furthermore, ACR+ encouraged the audience to taking part in the upcoming edition of the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR), which this year will focus on education about waste prevention.

The final report of the event is now available.
