URBAN-WASTE project has released the fourth issue of its newsletter, overviewing the latest project's developments. First of all, a series of gender focused webinars has been concluded. Three webinars on gender mainstreaming in waste management provided a reflection on what role gender plays in communication activities, budgeting and reporting.
 
Additionally, this spring the Charter of Commitments for Sustainable Resource Management and Circular Economy was launched with 5 cities and regions (Ponta Delgada, Lisbon, Nicosia, Purto de la Cruz and Metropole Nice Cote d’Azur) becoming its first signatories. Every tourist city and region or European public authority which is willing to commit to reducing waste generation by tourists and tourism service providers and improving waste management practices is invited to join this community and confirm their commitment by signing the Charter.
 
Lastly, the project announced that the next Mutual Learning event will take place in Kavala, Greece, between 26 and 28 June 2018 and will focus on marine litter. The Mutual Learning event will include a mixture of local and international speakers, as well as external cities interested in the topic. A number of NGOs, professors and other speakers will cover the issue of marine litter from their points of view and area of activities.
