The Catalan Waste Agency (ARC) is joining the International Compost Awareness Week 2024, from 5 to 11 May 2024. Throughout these days, organisations, actors of the agricultural sector, local entities and composting plants will promote the valorisation of organic waste and the benefits of composting. This year's theme, "COMPOST...champion for the climate," puts focus on UN Sustainable Development Goal 13: "Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts". Some of the activities planned in Catalonia include distributing compost and informational material to the population, hosting workshops and activities related to composting and its promotion, organising online or in-person seminars and conferences, and arranging visits to composting plants or areas with composters.
